Phobias

Phobias occur when a fear becomes irrationally large and it interferes with normal functioning. For example a phobia of wasps can lead to not going out in the summer or a fear of dogs can lead to running in the road. A phobia can take many forms and can range in severity.

The usual treatment for a phobia is a desensitisation programme done very slowly at a pace the child is comfortable with.
